Duruelt: The E-Commerce Platform Selling Book Sets to 300+ Schools
Duruelt Kitapçılık A.Ş. delivers the resources of more than 11 global ELT publishers to over 300 partner colleges and schools. Skysoft built an e-commerce platform where the right book set appears on its own once a parent picks their school and grade; that infrastructure absorbs the seasonal peaks and today sits behind more than 120,000 completed orders.
In short: Duruelt Kitapçılık is an educational publishing company that sells the resources of 11+ global ELT publishers to 300+ partner colleges and schools. The problem was that every school has its own grade lists and set contents, which left parents struggling to find the right one. Skysoft built a school- and grade-based set architecture. The platform now carries 120,000+ completed orders, and parents reach the right resource in a handful of steps.
Selling school books is not classic e-commerce.
On a standard e-commerce site the customer picks one product and adds it to the basket. In educational publishing, what is sold is less a product than a list: a set compiled from the resources of several publishers, for one specific grade at one specific school.
That list is decided by the school, and it changes from school to school. At the same grade level, two different colleges may teach two different series from two different publishers. The parent, meanwhile, usually arrives at the site with nothing more than a sheet of paper handed out by the school; expecting them to know the exact book title, the level code or the publisher is unrealistic.
The cost lands on both sides: wrong set orders, returns to process, and a customer service load that piles up at the start of every term. On top of that, the combination of hundreds of schools, dozens of grades and more than 11 publishers is simply not a scale that a classic category tree or hand-updated lists can handle.
- Every school has its own grade lists and set contents
- Parents struggle to find the right set
- High risk of wrong orders and returns
- School × grade × publisher combinations cannot be managed by hand
Not a product — the school's list is what sells.
The school-grade match, not the product card, sits at the centre of the platform. Parents make two choices and the right set appears in front of them; behind the screen, the lists of hundreds of schools are maintained from one place.
School- and grade-based set architecture
Parents never search for a book title; they pick their school and their grade. The set defined for that school-grade pair arrives ready, with every resource it contains.
11+ publishers, one catalog
The broad catalog of global ELT publishers is managed on a single platform. The same book can appear in the sets of different schools without breaking stock or price consistency.
Category and level structure
A category structure led by English, German and pre-school lets teachers and parents looking for a single title outside a set reach the right result as well.
3D Secure payment infrastructure
The payment step is protected by 3D Secure verification, giving parents a secure checkout and the business a collection flow it can trace.
Shipping integration
Dispatch and tracking run as one integrated process after the order; the shipments that pile up at the start of term move forward without being listed by hand.
Campaign and season management
Educational publishing runs on a known calendar. Campaigns, set discounts and season setups are handled from the admin panel, so no development work is needed at the start of each term.
The scale the platform carries
The figures below are the current corporate data published by Duruelt itself.
A parent who reaches the right resource in a few steps.
The most visible gain of the project is a shorter path to purchase. Parents no longer have to know the book title, its level or its publisher; picking their school and their grade is enough. That is a design decision which directly cuts the return risk created by wrong set orders.
On the business side, the lists of hundreds of schools moved out of hand-kept spreadsheets and into a structure that can actually be managed. Demand concentrated at the start of each term became something to plan for, alongside the season setup and campaign tools. More than 300 schools and more than 120,000 completed orders show that the platform holds up under that intensity.
- Return risk caused by the wrong set has come down
- School lists are managed from the panel, not by hand
- Seasonal peaks are absorbed by a scalable infrastructure
- Payment and shipping flows integrated end to end
