MasalToys: International E-Commerce with a Bundle Builder
In toy retail, single small items end up in low basket totals. For MasalToys we combined a shopping engine in which the customer builds their own bundle with a multilingual, multi-currency e-commerce platform. The store now sells to overseas customers in their own language and their own currency.
In short: MasalToys is a toy e-commerce brand that also sells abroad. The problem was that small single items produced low baskets, and that differences in language, currency and payment had to be managed in overseas sales. Skysoft developed a bundle builder in which the customer picks 6–50 items and builds their own bundle, with the discount growing as the count rises, on a multilingual, multi-currency platform. Customers now build their own bundle and shop with a higher basket total.
Raising the basket total on small items is hard.
Toy retail has a structural problem: the catalog is largely made up of items with a low unit price. The customer drops one product into the basket, moves through the shipping and payment steps, and the visit is over. The average basket total stays low, while shipping cost puts a disproportionate load on every order. The classic answer — ready-made sets with fixed contents — usually stays on the shelf, because it never lets the customer pick what they actually want.
The second difficulty came from international sales. A buyer abroad wants to read about the product in their own language, see the price in their own currency, feel no hesitation at the payment step and know the shipping and return terms clearly. None of these layers is a matter of "translation" on its own; together they touch the content, pricing, payment and logistics flows all at once.
- One small item = a low basket total
- Ready-made sets with fixed contents are not flexible
- Buyers abroad expect their own language and currency
- Payment, shipping and return confidence decide the purchase
A shopping flow where the customer builds their own bundle.
We did not drop an off-the-shelf module into MasalToys; we developed a bundle builder engine shaped around the brand's product structure, together with a store platform suited to international sales.
Bundle builder engine
The customer builds their own bundle by picking between 6 and 50 items from the catalog. The selection screen shows the remaining item allowance and the current bundle total step by step.
Tiered discount
As the number of items in the bundle rises, the discount goes up automatically and reaches up to 40%. The customer sees instantly what one more item is worth.
Multilingual content
Product, category and store copy are managed per language. Buyers abroad browse the site in their own language, while the content team works from a single panel.
Multiple currencies
Prices are shown in TRY and USD. The customer follows the total in their own currency all the way through the basket and payment steps, with no exchange rate surprises.
Secure payment and shipping
A payment flow secured with 256-bit SSL encryption, free shipping above a set order value and a 14-day easy return policy were built into the store experience.
Campaign management
Discount tiers, campaigns and the free shipping threshold are updated from the admin panel. Changing a campaign needs no developer support.
The more the customer builds, the bigger the basket.
The figures below sum up how the system running live in the MasalToys store is set up.
What changed on the business side?
The bundle builder created a mechanism that grows the basket without ever telling the customer to "buy more": the decision stays with the customer and both sides gain. At the same time the store became able to address buyers abroad in their own language and currency, so the uncertainty over language and exchange rates no longer stands in front of the sale.
- Customers build their own bundle and shop with a higher basket total
- Buyers abroad are served in their own language and currency
- Discount tiers are applied automatically by rule, not by hand
- Campaign and threshold changes are made from the panel, without touching code
A platform ready for international sales.
The scope of the project went well beyond a storefront site. The bundle logic had to stay consistent with the basket, stock, campaign and payment flows, so the engine and the store were designed as parts of the same whole.
- Custom-built bundle engine
- Multilingual content and catalog management
- Multi-currency support (TRY and USD)
- Secure payment and shipping integrations
- Campaign and discount tier management
- Mobile-first, fast-loading store interface
